Parasols

My crochet passion is making mandalas for parasols. I love the math involved in figuring out my own patterns!

These parasols come in a range of sizes: 48", 33", 30", or 12" when fully opened.

48" frames have automatic openers, crook handles, with both wood and brass details.

33" frames have manual openers, straight handles, and bamboo details.

30" frames have manual openers, crook handles, and plastic details.  

12" frames have manual openers, crook handles, and plastic details. 

Each full-size parasol takes 9 days to make because of time spent blocking each mandala and assembling each frame. Doll-sized parasols only take 3 days to make.

My frames are not repurposed umbrellas - those break too easily under the weight of 800+ yards of yarn.
